Don’t throw out old fur­ni­ture – give it a new lease of life!


4 x sturdy wooden crates, £5 each, ebay Drill Long screws Piece of tim­ber­board 400 x 1750mm, £29.49, Wickes Tape mea­sure

Stack two crates on their sides, one on top of the other so all the edges meet neatly. Drill pi­lot holes in each cor­ner and screw through, so the crates are at­tached. Re­peat with the sec­ond pair of crates. Turn the crate stacks up­side down so the screw heads are hid­den on the in­side of the lower crate. Lay the board on top and cen­tre us­ing a tape mea­sure. Drill holes up through the top of the crate on ei­ther side and screw through to se­cure the board.
