Rise and shine Iceland

Iceland is an unconventional addition as it experiences 24 hours of daylight in the summer months, thanks to its close proximity to the Arctic Circle. This doesn’t mean the sun doesn’t set, or indeed rise – here you can actually watch both, almost consecutively.

At Jokulsarlon Glacier Lagoon, the building-sized icebergs glisten as light from the low-lying sun bounces off their glassy exterior.

As the sun sets, sleepy seals bask in the warm air.

But within minutes, the show begins again as the sun, having temporarily dropped behind the distant volcanic mountains, rises again. hiddeniceland.is
