With family like this who can blame Carole Middleton?

Sunday Express - - Jennifer Selway -

WHAT do you make of huffy Joanne Callen, god-daughter and “first cousin once removed” of Carole Middleton? Photographed looking as though she’d chewed on a pan scourer she complains that Carole is now “too grand” to bother with her humbler relatives or attend family events. On top of that Joanne and her grandparents have never met Prince George. Shame. For of course they only want to meet him because he’s a lovely baby, nothing to do with him being a Prince. Perish the thought.

Snobbery works both ways. The Middletons might well be a little grand but Joanne Callen’s righteous indignation is none too attractive. All families have these fallings out and they always strike outsiders as pathetic.

If I were Carole I’d definitely rather hang out with the Queen than with miserable Joanne.
