NO SILENT TREATMENT AS POULT BLASTS FANS
THE 2022 Commonwealth Games is almost certain to be held in Birmingham after it was the only city to submit a bid before last night’s deadline. It was thought that Kuala Lumpur in Malaysia and Victoria in Canada would also apply.
Games chiefs said they will now review Birmingham’s plans to check they meet “the requirements of successfully hosting” the event, expected to cost at least £750million. A final decision “is expected by the end of the year”.
