Wednesday The Apprentice 9pm, BBC Two
BOND fans will recognise the rolling green grounds of Stoke Park Hotel & Country Club in Buckinghamshire as the soothing setting for 007’s epic game of golf with Auric Goldfinger. This week, however, it plays host to a whole other bagful of dimpled balls, as The Apprentice’s hopeful boys and girls descend like a plague of bickering locusts. This week’s task involves a spot of interior design, and, for reasons known only to themselves, Stoke Park’s proprietors have agreed to let Alan Sugar’s merry band loose on two of their nice rooms, taking on the challenge of making them over into luxury themed nightmare paradises. The teams are given 48 hours to come up with and then execute their fiendish decorating plans – because that’s how interior design works – and go about it with the style savvy and gusto of Frank Spencer loose in the sale aisle of B&Q. Highlights include Liz’s deeply sinister work with a measuring tape. Odd Job himself would be proud.
