End the world as we know it ...

Sunday Herald - - EDITORIAL & LETTERS -

AH, it’s the end of the world! (If you are reading this then you survived the apocalypse, News, September 24). Run, duck and cover (although that’s hardly going to help when that mysterious planet crashes into our own and destroys humanity). It’s a lot of nonsense, isn’t it? My question is why do we love such stories? Does the idea of our destiny lying in the hands of something or someone outside of our control make us feel better about not living our dreams? Does it soothe us as we sit around watching trash TV? Probably. Chris Miller Forbes Glasgow
