Amanda Holden’s blush went into or­bit after she asked British as­tro­naut Ma­jor Tim Peake about his visit to the moon, al­though the 45-year-old has never been there, and nor has any­one since 1972. “I wasn’t on the moon,” Peake told the This Morn­ing pre­sen­ter: “I was on the space sta­tion.” Holden, who asked if he had col­lected a piece of moon rock, later tweeted: “#so­funny I’m a t*t.”

A Buck­ing­hamshire ho­tel had sug­gested the pic­ture was based on a stag seen in its grounds dur­ing Land­seer’s vis­its in the 19th cen­tury. But NGS says the set­ting is un­doubt­edly High­land.

After his Gen­eral Elec­tion cam­paign he said he planned to “catch up with EastEn­ders” and he watched Ca­su­alty on the eve of this year’s Labour Party con­fer­ence in Brighton.
