I know who’d be perfect as Rangers’ No3..

-

I’m not sure about the new dream team of Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig as hosts of Channel 4’s first series of Bake Off.

Noel is hilarious and I’m a huge Mighty Boosh fan but I can’t picture him chatting with contestants about their lemon drizzle cakes.

A recording of some X-rated music he made has emerged and I think some of the lyrics may leave a bad taste with the show’s core audience. “The Search For Rangers’ No3” sounds like the title of a great movie, doesn’t it? So dramatic.

I keep reading that new manager Pedro Caixinha will opt for a Scot to add to his backroom staff but I’m not sure that person has to be Scottish.

I agree the new addition should be a Rangers man and I think it’s invaluable to have an ex-player on the first-team staff.

Neil McCann, Barry Ferguson and John Brown are all rumoured to be in the mix. They are all great guys and capable and worthy of the role. But in my opinion, “foreigners” should not

The arts and our broadcasters have a huge responsibility to get that right.

Meanwhile, Thandie is back on British prime time tonight and, for a whole raft of reasons, I can’t wait.

Firstly, it means the brilliant Line of Duty is making a return to our screens.

Not only that, it will putThandie, as DCI Roz Huntly, alongside my old mate – Greenock’s finest, Martin Compston.

If you haven’t watched the previous series of Line of Duty, switch on – Martin is bril liant as good guy Detective Steve Arnott and I’m not just saying that because he’s a pal.

The last time I had a drink with Martin, he was enthusing about having dinner and drinks with Thandie after filming.

I hope someone else is picking up the champagne bill – he’s so showbiz these days. be ruled out and I’m sure if the right one comes along, he won’t be.

Ibrox has a rich history of players from all continents who have been loved by the fans.

As to whether my husband Jonatan’s CV has gone in to Ibrox? No comment.
