Two men injured in Arthur’s Seat fall
A man has been seriously injured after falling 40f t from Arthur’s Seat.
Emergency services were called to the Edinburgh landmark at about 7am yesterday.
The man, who had suf fered serious head injuries, was lowered down the hi l l by f iref ighters before being airlifted by a coastguard helicopter.
He wa s f low n to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary, while another man with shoulder injur ies was taken to hospi tal by ambulance.
A spokesman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We received a call from police about a male casualty who had fallen 40ft down Arthur’s Seat.
“We mobilised line rescue teams from Tolcross fire station and a search and rescue helicopter was mobilised to assist.
“One male casualt y had severe head injuries was lowered with l ine equipment and removed by the helicopter.
“One f ur ther ma l e casualty with shoulder injur ies was taken to the Royal Inf irmary by the Scottish Ambulance Service.”
