The £ 17, 576 - a- yea r housekeeping assistant’s role was advertised on the monarchy’s website.
The successful candidate wi l l spend thei r t ime dusting, pol ishing and ensuring the Edinburgh palace’s numerous antiques are cared for.
The job advert reads: “It’s the community spirit and it’s collaborating to deliver extraordinary service.
“This is what makes work ing for the royal household so different.
“You’ll work in all different types of rooms at the palace, public facing and behind the scenes, including the visitor route, all public areas, staff off ices and state rooms, ensuring that they are represented to their best for colleagues, visitors and the royal family. Aiming for the highest profe s siona l standards, you’ l l clean and care for varied interiors and items.”
Candidates are required to have a keen eye for detail, good communication skills and a positive approach.
