Alba Game on for new season
DoDonnie Macleod’s DIY spspecial in the Lewis ReRetirement Centre in StoStornoway is one of a rafraft of new programmes bebeing launched for BBC Al Alba’s Other autumn highlightsbO season. incinclude Scotland’s GaGame Changers, a dodocumentary that follows the Scotland women’s foofootball team as they emembark on their journey to the European ChChampionship Finals.
It also follows them on another vital campaign – the push to overcome prejudice which prevents girls playing football.
Four On The Cuillin is a new series which takes four school-leavers from Glasgow to Skye, where they take on an expedition to climb the Cuillin Ridge, one of Europe’s most spectacular mountain ranges.
Stornoway To Serbia – Putting Out The Fire, which is on tomorrow at 9pm, follows the Stornoway firemen as they join forces with other Scottish firefighters to take five retired fire engines and an ambulance 1500 miles across Europe to Serbia.
BBC Alba have joined the BBC Writersroom to launch a talent search to find the best comedy writers for a new Gaelic show.
They are looking for sketches aimed at an 18 to 34-year-old audience, some of which will feature as part of a new commission to be filmed by Still Game director Michael Hines.
