Cy­clist on 104-mile ride goes miss­ing

Con­cern was grow­ing last night for a 63-yearold cy­clist who went miss­ing while on a 104mile jour­ney.

An­thony Par­sons, known as Tony, left his home in Ross Cou r t , T i l l i c o u t r y, Clack­man­nan­shire, more than a week ago.

He travel led to For t Wil­liam by train, ar­riv­ing at around 4.10pm on Fri­day, Septem­ber 29.

It is bel ieved he then set off to cy­cle back to Til­li­coul­try along the A82.

Tony passed Glen­coe Vil­lage on his bike shortly af­ter 6pm that day and was seen at 11.30pm at the Bridge of Orchy Ho­tel in Ar­gyll.

He left that area and headed sout h , in the di­rec­tion of Tyn­drum.

Po­lice are ap­peal­ing for mem­bers of the pub­lic to check out-houses and sheds in the search.

He is de­scribed as 5ft 9in tall, stocky build, with short hair, a mous­tache and may be wear­ing glasses.

He has a tat­too of an an­chor on his right up­per arm and an­other of an ea­gle on his left.

He wa s last s e en wear­ing a sil­ver and grey bike hel­met with a blue long-sleeved cy­cling top, a hi g h- v i s i b i l i t y ves t , f in­ger­less gloves, beige c omba t c amou f l a ge trousers and walk­ing boots.

He was car­ry­ing a sil­ver and blue back­pack and had a yel­low framed bike with black han­dle­bars.
