Korma’s new No1 curry in Britain

Sunday Mail (UK) - - News -

Move over tikka masala – korma is the new king of British curries.

A survey found the mild, creamy dish is now the top choice of nearly a fifth of diners, making it our most popular Indian curry.

Tomato- based t ik ka masala – once named Britain’s national dish – fell to No2, followed by madras, jalfrezi and vindaloo.

Balti, bhuna, dopiaza, saag and rogan josh completed the top 10.

One in three Brits chooses the same Indian dish every time, according to the research by Kingfisher beer for National Curry Week, which starts tomorrow.

And nearly two- thirds have never tried a vindaloo.

Kingfisher’s John Price said: “Many are missing out. Curry Week is a chance to try something new.”
