The Who are in talks about a huge deal to replace Sir Elton John in Las Vegas.

Insiders claim rock icons Pete Townshend, 73, and Roger Daltrey, 72, will seal a deal to play The Colosseum Theatre at Caesars Palace for at least two years.

The deal could range from £12million to £ 35million depending on how many performances they agree.

The fee works out at about £ 250,000 a night for the group, who enjoyed a short sel l - out r un ea r l i e r this year.

Sir Elton wi l l end his 13-year and 450-show run – during which he has played to more than 1.8million fans – in May 2018.

And concert promoters AEG and Caesars chiefs hope to have Roger and Pete on stage by July.

A Vegas insider said: “Elton is leaving, so the promoters and resor t wanted to bring in an act of equal stature.

“The Who’s shows this summer were a critical success and a sell-out, with Roger’s voice sounding better than ever.

“They enjoyed the gigs and unique opportunity of a residency and were open to repeating it for a longer run.

“The talks have been going well and there is a genuine hope that a deal will be done.”
