Women lose out at work
Nearly a third of British women say they have lost out on earnings because of their gender, a study revealed yesterday.
They claim they have suffered career setbacks and a loss of confidence because of stereotyping in the workplace.
Almost one fifth of women (18 per cent) believe their career has suffered because of their gender – a feeling strongest among those in Scotland (15 per cent) and London (16 per cent).
Thirty per cent told the Avon UK poll they have missed out on earnings potential, with nearly a quarter (23 per cent) feeling they could not even work in a certain job.
