Big stage for Garry

Garry Brown is ready to prove he belongs on the big stage at this year’s Commonwealth Games in Australia.

The reigning Scot tish indoor champ was first reserve for the para lawn bowls team at Glasgow 2014 but never got his chance to shine.

And he was in the same reserve place for the Gold Coast games before Martin Hunter had to withdraw.

Brown, who has cerebral palsy, said: “I’m over the moon to be added to the team. It was really hard missing out in the f irst selection because I missed Glasgow as well.

“The squad is a tight-knit group and I’ve just slotted in.

“My target is a medal – gold is the dream but the Aussies are strong favourites.”
