Alan Archibald lamented Thistle’s dozy defending as his side slumped to a last-gasp defeat for the second week on the trot.

Partick finished in the top six last season for the first time but the Jags boss admits his men are embroiled in a dogfight with bottom side Ross County up next.

David Templeton’s injurytime winner saw Thistle slip below Hamilton into the relegation play-off place after losing the lead as they did against Dundee.

And Archibald said: “It’s a sickener two weeks in a row. We’ve not learned from it and there’s no excuse.

“We had three central defenders on the pitch and enough lads who know how to organise and have enough nous about them to see the game out and take the point. We’re pushing for the winner and were still in a comfortabl­e position. But we didn’t have to dive in and we’ve lost the second goal.”
