Murray making moves
There will be a Scot in Wimbledon next week after all – after Jamie Murray and Bruno Soares progressed in the mens’ doubles.
The brother of Andy and his Brazilian partner beat the American and Aussie duo of Taylor Fritz and Matthew Ebden in straight sets.
Murray and Soares strolled to victory with a scoreline of 7-5 6-3 6-1.
The fifth seeds haven’t won a Grand Slam together since the US Open in 2016.
Murray and Soares’ victory sets up an almost all-British clash with the Skupski brothers, Ken and Neal, of Liverpool.
The Skupskis, 35 and 28, won their first ATP title in February as a doubles pairing.
Both brothers have also been involved in mixed doubles action.
And Neal is still in the tournament on both fronts after he and Naomi Brody were victorious on Friday over Joe Salisbury and Katy Dunne.
