Only 48 hours in UK and visit Salisbury twice? Totally normal tourism

-

And this week’s Sheer Bare-Faced Lying Cheek Award goes to Alexander Petrov and Ruslan Boshirov (British police believe those names are fake, by the way), the two Russians who have been charged by UK authorities with the attempted murder of Sergei Skripal, his daughter Yulia and a police officer investigating the poisoning.

Petrov said: “We came there (to UK) on March 2, then went to a railway station to see the timetable.

“We arrived in Salisbury on March 3 and tried to walk through the town but we lasted for only half an hour because it was covered in snow.” Photos of them in England, released to the press by police, show small patches of snow on the ground. (Incidentally, the temperature in Moscow at the time was -10C but this pair couldn’t handle a tiny bit of snow in Salisbury.)

Here were their actual movements: They flew into the UK on the Friday night and checked into a hotel in London.

They took a train to Salisbury on the Saturday and pottered around for an hour before returning to London.

They went back to Salisbury for a few hours on the Sunday (and were caught on CCTV near the Skripal home) before flying back to Russia that night.

Forty-eight hours in the UK and the only thing you do is make two short trips to Salisbury? Sounds like completely normal tourism to me.

That murdering, scumbag animal Putin must be laughing his head off.
