Your pong could be big hit for star Elton

-

Sorry may be the hardest word but sometimes Elton John just had to say it – after breaking wind while recording one of his hit albums.

A pal of Sir Elton has told how the superstar let rip on tape while recording classic record Goodbye Yel low Brick Road.

Guitarist Davey Joh ns t one said t he embarrassing incident, which took place in Elton’s wilder days in the studio in Jamaica in 1973, left them in hysterics.

And Johnstone reckons the incident could be released as par t of a compilation of other hilarious out- takes with the Your Song singer.

Johnstone, 69, said : “I heard an out- take the other day and there is a recording before we started Funeral For A Friend in the studio.

“It was incredibly tense and quiet and we were all really dialled into this moment. I can hear Elton counting ‘One, two, three…’ and, right before he hit ‘ four’, all you hear is brrrp.

“We just lost it. We collapsed. He can be in the most tense situation and decides to drop one.”

Johnstone said there were many similar moments during the Jamaican studio session that would make a great album.

He told music channel In The Trenches they “got completely out of it” on the local produce. He added: “Elton fell off the piano, the guys fell on the f loor and we laughed non-stop.”
