GEORGE, PRINCE OF WAILS

All in all, the little royals behaved perfectly... they’re such cute kids WEDDING ONLOOKER ON GEORGE AND CHARLOTTE

POOR Prince George burst out crying yesterday as his aunt’s wedding had something old, something new, something borrowed and something boo-hoo.

Three-year-old George and sister Charlotte, two, were among eight pageboys and bridesmaids for Pippa Middleton’s lavish wedding to financier James Matthews.

All went well as the royals’ mum Kate, the Duchess of Cambridge, took charge of the youngsters... until George blotted his copybook after the ceremony.

Kate stepped in and scolded the little prince – and the royal tears flowed.

But it was only a blip and the youngster and Charlotte, looking adorable in matching ensembles, did themselves proud.

They toed the line when Kate put her fingers to her lips to tell the kids to “hush” as proceedings were about to get under way.

An onlooker said: “All in all, they were perfectly behaved. They’re such cute kids they just melt your heart.”

But another pageboy did raise eyebrows when he flashed what looked suspiciously like a V-sign – innocently, of course, but it was all caught on camera.

The onlooker added: “Every parent can relate to that, you try everything to make sure your kids are well behaved but sometimes there’s nothing you can do. It’s fair to say that photo won’t be making the wedding album. It just goes to show – you can be surrounded by royals and you still can’t predict what kids might do.”

George and the pageboys were dressed in double-breasted cream shirts with a Peter Pan collar, gold pantaloons and white stockings – supplied by the Spanish clothing company Pepa & Co.

For the bridesmaids Pippa chose cream dresses with puffed sleeves, a blush-coloured sash around the waist and topped off with a decorative floral crown.

George and Charlotte had been met by plenty of coos as they made their way into 12th century St Mark’s Church in Englefield, Berkshire. And the beaming prince was on top form as he rode in a vintage wedding car with Kate and Charlotte.

The Duchess was also pictured laughing hysterically with her daughter as they prepared to leave church. This was the royal children’s first wedding and dutiful George was seen helping his sister with her blossom wreath as they entered church.

Aside from Charlotte and George, Pippa had a further three page boys, Casimir Tatos, Edward Sebire and William Ward, and three more bridesmaids – Countess Phillipa Hoyos, Lily French and Avia Horner.

Kate admitted only days ago, at a royal garden party, that she was “worried” about how her children would behave on the big day.

And as a precaution their Spanish nanny, Maria Borrallo, was at the ceremony in full uniform to help look after them when needed.
