Pig sickening

Brian Hobill should be called Farmer Horror because that’s what an animal welfare activist found on his pig farm.

- madeuthink@mirror.co.uk

Hobill was keeping 15,000 pigs in sickening conditions, and dead animals were left to be eaten by the living. The pigs were covered in their own filth, carcasses were allowed to rot, and water troughs were soiled.

This is not acceptable on any level. Aside from Hobill’s inhumanity there is the issue of public health. These are pigs that people will one day eat – but only because they are unaware of the suffering and insanitary conditions animals endured before they got to the plate.

Given the evidence we publish today we trust regulators will pay an immediate call on Farmer Horror to order him to clean up his pigs and his act. And ensure that this swine sticks to the rules in future.
