Bradley mum: I ache for my brave boy’s giggles and hugs

- BY PHIL CARDY

PLUCKY little soccer mascot Bradley Lowery’s grieving mum Gemma told yesterday how she longs for his giggles and cuddles.

She and husband Carl are setting up a foundation in the six-year-old cancer victim’s name to support other children fighting the disease following his death last month. An online appeal has already raised hundreds of thou- sands of pounds towards their goal of £500,000. Bradley won the nation’s heart as mascot for his local team Sunderland. Then his “best pal”, striker Jermain Defoe, helped him lead out England at Wembley in March.

Thousands lined Blackhall Colliery streets for his funeral after he died of neuroblastoma.

Gemma wrote on Facebook: “I miss waking up to his giggles. I miss his little innocent voice saying, ‘I love you mammy’.”
