Moyes: I’m ready for Irons fans

Sunday Mirror (Northern Ireland) - - Boxing - BY STEVE STAMMERS

DAVID MOYES will not be intimidated by the size of the task at West Ham.

The former Everton and Manchester United boss has to rescue a Hammers squad short on confidence – and on points – as they have slumped into the relegation zone.

“This is a great club and a passionate one,” said Moyes. But he knows that the Irons’ fans are a demanding audience.

“If you win, it makes it easier to win them over. If you don’t win, then it is tough.”

The twice-daily training sessions since his arrival are a barometer of the Moyes approach.

And that means players Andy Carroll, Pablo Zabaleta, Javier Hernandez, Jose Fonte, Joe Hart, Mark Noble, Winston Reid, Michail Antonio and Marko Arnautovic can all look forward to driving home in the early-evening November gloom.

Moyes added: “What we need to also hear is what players are thinking. We need to know what they feel would help them.”
