Side effects hit 60% on mood drugs

-

NEARLY two-thirds of people on antidepressants have had side effects, a poll by charity Mind reveals.

Sixty per cent felt medication was affecting their sex life, work or study, social life, close relationships or independence.

Mind has called for better support for people taking antidepressants.

It wants to see more training in mental health for GPs, and has produced a guide for patients.

A record 64.7million antidepressants were doled out in England last year – double that in 2006.

The Sunday Mirror’s Time to Change campaign is calling for better mental health care.
