Burglar jailed after tracker exposes him
A BURGLAR has become the first in the country to be jailed after he was traced to the scenes of five break-ins via a GPS tracker.
“Professional burglar” Stuart Campbell, 42, went on the stealing spree just hours after the tracker was fitted to his leg following his release from prison.
Portsmouth Crown Court heard how he later cut off the device. But James Kellam of the CPS said “the data placed him at the scene of each and every burglary with which he was charged”.
Campbell, from Havant, Hants, pleaded guilty to the burglaries in Waterlooville, and was jailed for eight years.
