John Lewis monster ad light sells out
SHOPPERS were disappointed yesterday after a night light featured in the new John Lewis Christmas TV adverts sold out online and in some stores.
The £15 light is the gift left for a boy by a monster who sleeps under his bed in the £1million ad aired for the first time on Friday.
M&S’s special edition Paddington bear, star of its Christmas advert, was also out of stock online.
John Lewis denied it had been caught on the hop by the surge in demand.
A spokeswoman said: “More stock is being made available online and it’s still in most shops.”
M&S said 21,500 Paddingtons have sold since its ad was shown last Tuesday and it expects the toy will sell out in a week.
