STEVEN DAVIS knows it is glory or bust for his World Cup dream.

The Northern Ireland skipper grew up hoping to emulate Billy Bingham’s sides of the 1980s by playing in a World Cup.

But at 32, the Southampton midfielder knows this is probably his last chance – along with Gareth McAuley, Chris Brunt and Aaron Hughes – and is determined to seize it against the Swiss.

“Yes, we think about it,” Davis (above) said. “All of us as young players growing up, have always dreamed of that stage, and playing at the World Cup would be pinnacle of everyone’s career.

“We understand the magnitude of it all. We’ve put ourselves in a great position by getting into the play-offs.

“There are 90 minutes left and we’ve got to try to cause them problems.”
