How did I bag Doctor Who? By not being an a***hole...
Secret of star Jodie’s success Journalist’s Apple Watch ‘recorded his murder by Saudis’
RECORDINGS on a missing journalist’s Apple Watch prove he was tortured and murdered by Saudi Arabia, it has been claimed.
Saudi national Jamal Khashoggi, a critic of the regime, vanished after visiting its consulate in Istanbul.
His watch reportedly synced with his iPhone, carried by his JODIE Whittaker says she landed the new Doctor Who role by “not being an a***hole”.
And avoiding becoming an “absolute kn**head” in previous acting jobs also helped, she claimed.
The Broadchurch star admitted that getting on with the ITV crime series’ creator Chris Chibnall helped when he became executive producer and head writer of Doctor Who.
Jodie said: “I am 36 and I have a bit of a career but I have a lot to go as well and if there is any advice I could give anyone in this climate it is ‘don’t be an a***hole’.
“Chris Chibnall gave me this extraordinary role of Beth Latimer in Broadchurch, which was a wonderful series to be part of, and it was five years of my life.
“Now had I been an absolute kn**head on that job, rude to people, not a team player and not an ensemble member, my life would not have been the same because Chris would never have wanted to work with me again.
“I am lucky we were friends and my personality in between takes is really what he was looking for in the Doctor. She fiancee outside, and recorded video and audio inside the building.
The audio in particular is said to provide “persuasive, gruesome” evidence that assassins killed him.
It captured his screams as he was beaten then hacked to pieces, a Turkish newspaper said. “The moments when he was interrogated, tortured and murdered were added: “Thinking you have far more status than you have is a dangerous thing in this industry. “It is a small community of actors, especially in the UK. It is always ensemble whether your name is in the title or not.” Talking on the In Depth show on SiriusXM, Jodie said one of the major pressures of promoting Doctor Who in America was minding her Ps and Qs. The straight-talker from Skelmanthorpe in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire, said: “I swear a lot and so the pressure is not dropping my natural vocabulary into every interview and realising I am going to be kicked out.” Others said to have been in the running to play the 13th Doctor included My Family’s Kris Marshall, fellow Broadchurch actress Olivia Colman, Killing Eve writer Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Game of Thrones star Natalie Dormer. Tonight’s episode of the new Doctor Who series, on BBC1 at 6.55pm, sees Jodie and her new pals – including Graham played by Bradley Walsh – get stranded on a hostile alien planet without the Tardis. recorded in the Apple Watch memory,” it reported. It said Saudi agents realised after Mr Khashoggi died that the watch was recording, then used his fingerprint to unlock it and delete some but not all files. These emerged later, it reported.
A Saudi delegation has arrived in Turkey for a joint probe. Turkish spies told investigators they eavesdropped on the October 2 killing. US President Donald Trump promised “severe punishment” for the Saudis if they did kill the Washington Post writer, 57.
Former Foreign Secretary Sir Malcolm Rifkind demanded UK sanctions on Saudi Arabia. Riyadh said accusations it ordered Mr Khashoggi’s killing are “lies”.
