PO anger as Mail de­liv­ers a trade blow

AIL­ING post of­fices have ac­cused the pri­va­tised Royal Mail of snatch­ing their busi­ness cus­tomers.

They fear con­tract users are lured af­ter Mail sort­ing of­fices spot their de­tails.

One sub-post­mas­ter said: “They were of­fer­ing my cus­tomers half price post and par­cel pick-up. How can we com­pete?”

The Com­mu­ni­ca­tion Work­ers’ Union said hun­dreds of sub-post­mas­ters have voiced con­cern.

Royal Mail said: “We do not en­cour­age switch­ing. Busi­nesses who have seen their needs grow some­times seek Mail ac­counts of their own vo­li­tion.”
