The FA must scrub out sexism
Have you ever heard Gary Lineker on Match of the Day refer to players as “scrubbing up well” in their kit?
No, and that’s because, when you have talent, skill and a professional team on the pitch, nobody cares what they look like.
So why on earth would someone at the FA think that tweeting ”scrub up well, don’t they?” under a team pic of England’s Lionesses was acceptable? While it’s not the worst thing to say, I do think that in this day and age it’s uncalled for. A simple “good luck” would have sufficed.
I have a seven-year-old daughter and when she is in the workplace, I don’t want her to put up with such nonsense – so for her I am happy to roar for respect.
