Towering error

The first duty of government is to keep people safe. This one failed with coronavirus, and now it’s failing 56,000 high-rise residents.

Inspection teams charged with the removal of aluminium cladding are making too little headway. At least 40 tower blocks identified as having a similar fire risk to Grenfell have no plans in place to replace dangerous cladding three years after the disaster.

This is appalling. Grenfell claimed 72 lives. The Tories must pull their fingers out to prevent lethal cladding claiming any more.
