‘ Don’t rape’ book for immigrants

Sunday Sport - - NEWS -

THE Swedish government has issued a handbook to help teach teen migrants not to rape women.

The booklet is meant to provide guidance for adults who come into close contact with new arrivals, like social workers and foster families.

It has been published by the Swedish Agency for Youth and Civil Society, after seeing a ‘ great need for young new arrivals to get more knowledge on the subjects’.

The leaflet is described as a ‘guidance on speaking with young new arrivals about questions regarding health, sex and equality’.

Director general Lena Nyberg admits the leaflet is, in part, a response to recent reports on rapes and assaults involving teenage migrants, and is a step towards preventing sexual assaults.

Nybergh said: “One of many parts is discussing with girls and boys what you are allowed and not allowed to do.”
