Doctor Who fans’ fury as Beeb axe Christmas special

Sunday Sport - - NEWS -

THE Beeb has axed its Doctor Who Christmas special this year as it didn’t want to offend viewers who are Christian, fans claim.

The yuletide edition of the sci- fi show, starring Jodie Whittaker ( above), has been ditched for the first time since it came back in 2005.

Instead the festive episode will be shown on New Year’s Day.

But angry fans say the BBC has axed the Christmas Day special because the show itself has become too PC.

Fan Peter Daniels, 32, from Uttoxeter, said: “Since this new woman doctor started, the programme has been nothing but a virtue- signalling, lesbian- promoting PC preach- a- thon.

“The BBC think doing a Christmas- themed special is no longer ‘ viable’ these days.

“They say seeing the doctor in a Christmas outfit would alienate non- Christian viewers.

“This time it really is PC gone MAD!”
