Actor Charlie Hunnam attends the premiere of The Lost City Of Z THE £100m blockbuste­r movie King Arthur: Legend of the Sword hits UK cinemas next month with Charlie Hunnam in the title role.

Hunnam, who made his name in hit TV series like Sons of Anarchy and Queer as Folk, was born in Newcastle and is now well on his way to becoming a Hollywood ‘A-lister’.

He is just one of a number of stars from the region who are creating their own bit of Tinseltoon in Hollywood. Here are the others.

Another director, Neil is Newcastleb­orn and came to Hollywood’s attention with the low budget horror movie Dog Soldiers which he both directed and wrote the screen play for.

He has since gone from strength-tostrength, making the acclaimed horror movie The Descent, while also carving a niche for himself directing episode in top TV series like Hannibal and Game of Thrones.
