Seasiders share spoils
WHITBY Town had to settle for a share of the points in a 2-2 draw with Sutton Coldfield Town.
Chris Hardy’s side started brightly and took the lead in the 20th minute with a goal from David Carson.
He raced on to an Adam Gell through-ball and won a challenge with Royals keeper Mason Springthorpe.
The ball fell nicely for Carson and he rolled it into an empty net.
The Seasiders’ failure to deal with a corner led to an equaliser for the visitors just minutes before half-time.
Midfielder Lee Smith pounced on a loose ball and blasted home to get his side back on level terms at the interval. Former Premier League striker Marcus Tudgay put the visitors ahead as he capitalised on a defensive error and rolled the ball past Shane Bland.
But Carson grabbed his second of the day after racing on to a Matthew Tymon flick and ensuring his side came away with a hard-earned point.
