THE dad of miss­ing New­cas­tle man Michael Whin­ham has re­vealed he be­lieves his son is still alive and liv­ing rough nearly two years af­ter he dis­ap­peared.

Michael was last seen on Novem­ber 14, 2015 and was of­fi­cially re­ported miss­ing to po­lice on Novem­ber 23.

His dad Paul has been try­ing to search for him ever since and says “if a body hasn’t turned up, then he’s out there some­where”.

The 67-year-old, of Wallsend, says a cou­ple of peo­ple have told him they saw his son in Scotland.

The most re­cent re­port was from a man who was home­less in Ed­in­burgh who claimed he saw Michael in May.

Paul added: “This man said 100% he was with Michael and went for a drink with him in a cou­ple of pubs. They were both liv­ing on the street.”

He has now made an emo­tional ap­peal for his son to come back home.
