Charges after two van raids
A MAN has been charged in connection with two raids at Newcastle pharmacies on Friday morning.
Dean Conroy, 35, is accused of crashing a van into the shop front of Newburn Pharmacy on Newburn Road to steal drugs and cash, before an attempted theft at Farah Chemists on Armstrong Road.
Conroy, of Grange Road in Newburn, was due in court on Saturday morning, charged with two counts of burglary, attempted theft and driving without a licence or insurance.
The first incident allegedly occurred at 7.01am on Friday with the second incident three hours later.
A police spokeswoman added: “Dean Conroy has been charged with two counts of burglary, attempted theft and driving without a licence or insurance.”
