Bell up for chal­lenge of test­ing times at McLaren

N O R T H U M B E R L A N D sportscar star Rob Bell was last week re­vealed as a fac­tory driver for McLaren Au­to­mo­tive for 2018.

The multi-cham­pi­onship win­ner will play a vi­tal role in as­sist­ing with the de­vel­op­ment of the new 720S GT3 car, along with men­tor­ing the young tal­ent in the new McLaren Au­to­mo­tive Driver De­vel­op­ment pro­gramme – which in­cludes 18-year-old County Durham driver Char­lie Fagg.

Bell will have a busy sea­son on his hands, as he em­barks on a hard test­ing and de­vel­op­ment pro­gramme for the new 720S GT3 weapon.

“I have ex­ten­sive ex­pe­ri­ence of both the 12C GT3 and the 650S GT3, so to be part of the pro­gramme for the race ver­sion of the award­win­ning McLaren 720S is a great op­por­tu­nity,” he said. “

Bell, who been rac­ing the McLaren GT3 mod­els for the last five years, is look­ing for­ward to the next phase.

“I’ve been given a very warm wel­come by McLaren Au­to­mo­tive and I’m look­ing for­ward to work­ing with their team of spe­cial­ists through­out next year as the new GT3 pro­gramme takes shape,” he added.
