Bell up for challenge of testing times at McLaren
N O R T H U M B E R L A N D sportscar star Rob Bell was last week revealed as a factory driver for McLaren Automotive for 2018.
The multi-championship winner will play a vital role in assisting with the development of the new 720S GT3 car, along with mentoring the young talent in the new McLaren Automotive Driver Development programme – which includes 18-year-old County Durham driver Charlie Fagg.
Bell will have a busy season on his hands, as he embarks on a hard testing and development programme for the new 720S GT3 weapon.
“I have extensive experience of both the 12C GT3 and the 650S GT3, so to be part of the programme for the race version of the awardwinning McLaren 720S is a great opportunity,” he said. “
Bell, who been racing the McLaren GT3 models for the last five years, is looking forward to the next phase.
“I’ve been given a very warm welcome by McLaren Automotive and I’m looking forward to working with their team of specialists throughout next year as the new GT3 programme takes shape,” he added.
