Bradley cousins out for lights switch-on

-

THE people of Durham showed Bradley Lowery is still in their hearts by inviting members of his family to switch on their Christmas lights in his memory.

Bradley, who died in July, spread Christmas cheer throughout County Durham at various switch-ons during his life.

This year, his cousins, Jorja, eight, Lasey, seven, and Harley Jay Stonebank, six, joined Councillor Bill Kellett, Durham County Council leader, for the ceremony.

Coun Kellett said: “B r a d l e y was such an inspiring boy and I know he really enjoyed turning the Christmas lights on. “Wherever he went, he made everyone smile. This year I was happy to switch the Christmas lights on with his cousins in his memory.” Flicking the switch, the children illuminated Durham’s Christmas tree, as well as a pair of reindeer. Bradley, from Blackhall Colliery, County Durham, loved Christmas celebrations and last year received a l m o s t 200,000 festive cards f r o m w e l l - wishers across the globe.
