ANT and Dec, Prince Harry and Roald Dahl are just some of the famous faces we want to see on banknotes.

With the new £20 note coming into circulation in 2020, Coininvest polled residents to find out who they’d like to see on their currency.

It has been the Queen since 1960, but other royals proved popular.

A fifth (22%) of Newcastle residents want to see Prince Harry, while 17% of people want to see his late mum, Princess Diana.

Ranking top of the list was actress Judi Dench (34%) followed by children’s author Roald Dahl, actor Alec Guinness, and Ant and Dec, with 29%.

Helen Mirren (15%), Ian Fleming (12%) and Ian McKellen (12%) all made the top 10.

A total of 83% of those polled in Newcastle said it’s important public figures featured on UK currency have had a positive impact on British society.
