Pom­pey top the ta­ble af­ter triple tri­umph

PORTSMOUTH are the new lead­ers of Sky Bet League One af­ter their 3-1 win at Rochdale yes­ter­day.

Aaron Wil­bra­ham put the hosts ahead early on but Portsmouth replied with goals from Ja­mal Lowe, Brett Pit­man and Matt Clarke to main­tain their un­beaten record in the league this sea­son.

Kenny Jack­ett’s side re­placed Peter­bor­ough at the sum­mit af­ter Posh were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Black­pool.

Peter­bor­ough twice led through goals from Rhys Ben­nett and Mark O’Hara but Ar­mand Gnan­duil­let and Nathan Delfouneso scored equalis­ers.

Don­caster climbed to third in the ta­ble af­ter a 3-2 win at Ply­mouth, who re­main rooted to the bot­tom.

John Mar­quis scored ei­ther side of a Matty Blair strike for Rovers while Ruben Lameiras and Gra­ham Carey replied for Ar­gyle, with Carey’s ef­fort com­ing deep into in­jury time.

Barns­ley climbed to fifth place af­ter goals from Ja­cob Brown, Ki­ef­fer Moore and Ma­madou Thiam saw them win 3-1 at Fleet­wood, who had led through Har­ri­son Big­gins’ 19th-minute free-kick.

Charl­ton stay sixth and com­plete the play-off places but they needed an in­jury­time equaliser from Chris Solly to earn a 2-2 draw at Lu­ton.

Ox­ford’s strug­gles con­tin­ued with a 2-1 de­feat at AFC Wim­ble­don. Scott Wagstaff and Joe Pig­ott put the Dons in con­trol be­fore Cameron Bran­na­gan pulled a goal back be­fore half-time.

Gilling­ham re­main in the bot­tom four de­spite Tom Eaves’ last-minute goal earn­ing them a point at Shrews­bury in a 2-2 draw.

Bran­don Han­lan put the Gills in front but Lee An­gol lev­elled up and Ol­lie Nor­burn scored in the 88th minute. But Eaves’ equaliser halted a four-match los­ing run for Gills.

Billy Kee’s sev­enth-minute penalty gave Ac­cring­ton a 1-0 win at Wal­sall as Stan­ley ex­tended their un­beaten run to nine league games.

Southend looked to be coast­ing to vic­tory at Wy­combe when goals from Theo Robin­son, Tom Hop­per and Si­mon Cox put them firmly in con­trol but late ef­forts from Craig Mack­ail-Smith and Ade­bayo Ak­in­fenwa set up a tense fi­nale and it fin­ished 3-2 at Adams Park. It ended goal­less be­tween both Brad­ford and Bris­tol Rovers and Bur­ton and Scun­thorpe.
