Charity champ is brewing up for a good cause to create memories

Sunderland Echo - - City Buzz -

Charity champion Julie Reay has teamed up with a city cake shop for a special Ladies Day afternoon tea.

The fundraising tea will take place this Saturday from noon until 3pm at Love Lily in Marine Walk, Roker. Proceeds from the event will go towards 4Louis, a charity which helps parents going through the trauma of miscarriage and early infant deaths.

Julie, who has raised £150,000 for local causes since the death of her son Peter in a rope swing accident, said: “I first thought about the idea a couple of months ago and decided Love Lily would be a fabulous venue to hold this event.

“I went down to meet up with Helena who owns this wonderful little cafe along with her sister Gemma and I mentioned to them that all proceeds will be donated to 4Louis and they were delighted to help such a worthy cause.”

4Louis provides memory boxes to hospitals across the country.
