Annual family bike ride to raise valuable funds

Entries are being sought for the Rotary Washington Annual Bike Ride.

The event is open to young and not so young, including families

This year a number of local good causes have been chosen to benefit from the funds raised during the ride.

They are Lunar Homeless Women Personal Care, and Washington Boxing Club.

The ride takes place on Sunday, July 8, starting at 10.30am and covers a distance of 17 miles.

Starting from the Washington Arms, the ride follows the C2C route along the river to The Stadium Of Light, where there will be refreshmen­ts before the journey back to The Washington Arms – for further refreshmen­ts.

The route will be signposted and marshalled by volunteers.

Entry is £5 but under 16s go free as long as they are accompanie­d by an adult.

Sponsorshi­p and entry forms are available and can be emailed or collected in the village from The Washington Arms.
