opening in 1993, was presented with flowers and a gift voucher, and gifts were also presented to three residents who have lived at the scheme since it opened 25 years ago.
Daniel Bray, retirement housing manager at Bernicia, said: “We’re passionate about over the age of 55, helping people to stay independent for longer, and it is with great pride that we have celebrated the scheme’s 25th anniversary with its residents, as well as Carol’s 25 years’ long service – whose work with the residents has been invaluable.”
Chillingham House has also recently benefitted from a £60,000 makeover, in which the building was modernised with fresh décor including new furniture in the communal lounge, and new carpets, curtains and blinds throughout.
