The right formula for success

Sunderland Echo - - Retro -

This was the sight that gave motorists a shock to the system.

Drivers heading to work could not believe their eyes when they saw a man in a white coat climb to the top of the Wearmouth Bridge and stand with his arms outstretched while a helicopter hovered overhead.

However, this wasn’t a life-or-death drama but the carefully staged filming of a TV advertisement.

The early morning traffic was delayed while the film crew descended upon the Wearmouth Bridge.

The London-based Mob Film Company had arrived in the city to film a new television ad for Lloyds Pharmacy.

Choosing the Wearmouth Bridge as the ideal location, the crew brought with them a stuntman and a hired helicopter. Filming began at 6.30am.
