From memorable personal moments (surprise birthday fireworks, a magical engagement party dinner), to encounters with nature in stunning locations (swimming with a brace of friendly dolphins), the captains we’ve been talking to this month have been creating unique charter experiences for their guests. You can read all about what they have been up to in the past 12 months from page 45 in our My Charter Year feature. It’s a reminder that a vital element of the amazement and the sheer sense of freedom that charter parties feel is in large part down to some careful curation by the captains and crews.

The two owners we’ve been in conversation with this month know a thing or two about creating the perfect on-board experience. The owner of the CRN Atlante (page 68) wanted a yacht without compromise, which explains this 55-metre’s distinctive exterior styling, but only hints at the chameleon character of a yacht that has so many options for guests. Our cover star, the 63-metre Benetti 11.11, has an owner who came to the project late, but set about creating the ideal yacht for cruising with his family. You can see how he triumphed on page 22. If there’s a lesson to be learned from the stellar charter yachts and the two wonderful new private yachts we feature in this issue, it’s that each time you step on board, a wonderful new experience awaits.
