The Bahamas has much to offer today’s buyer, believes Edward de Mallet Morgan of Knight Frank. “The market has been strong through the past season. Tax is becoming more of an important factor for residents as it’s widely regarded as the most advantageous jurisdiction in the Caribbean. Prices have remained flat but there is good confidence that the Bahamas market will continue to be a popular one to come.” There is a wide range of both houses and apartments offering different lifestyles from the very traditional gated community of Lyford Cay – home to Sean Connery – to the One & Only resort which, adds Edward, “is a bit like Wentworth, if Wentworth was beachfront”. The Albany is the main superyacht focus with its marina (which accommodates yachts of up to 91 metres), Tiger Woods-designed golf course, and recording studio on site.
