Delivered as Thames III in 1961 as an ocean-going tug, she remained in service until 1979, says Alex Busher at Edmiston, who has the CA. Converted to a luxury yacht spec and upgraded in 1994 and 2000 by her American family owners, Itasca has traversed the Northwest Passage and girdled the globe three times, clocking up to 30,000nm in a year. Her ship-like economy is driven by either of her two MANS, but never both, on a single shaft to deliver 13,000nm at 11.5 knots. Cayman flagged, and with an icecheating steel hull, this 53.6-metre is heli-capable and can handle ten guests and 12 crew. Lying Palm Beach, $16.95 million will secure.
