WORLD TOUR BIG WAVE
With the Women’s Big Wave World Tour kicking off at the Pe’ahi Challenge, Paige Alms – who became the first ever Women’s Big Wave Champion at Pe’ahi last season – made history once again with her unprecedented big wave victory.
This isn’t the only history being made on the women’s big wave circuit this year. Other groundbreaking news is that for the first time in surfing history, women will be competing at the world famous Waimea in a new event that aims to crown the inaugural Queen of the Bay. In addition to this event being added to the women’s Big Wave World Tour, there will also be an event at coldwater big wave spot, Mavericks.
Finally we are seeing awesome strides to equality in the Big Wave surfing world, and we’re immensely excited to see the results.
